Good morning
It’s Friday, a few hours from the weekend beginning and we’ve just arrived back from another fun bike marking morning.
MOAT MOAT are a fantastic community centre in Pollards Hill that offer a lot of classes and informative chats. It’s a really nice place to meet people and attend if you have a quiet day. Please see attached leaflet for information on their timetable.
Violence Against Women and Girls On Tuesday 24th February Merton is launching its Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy. This strategy sets out our ambitious vision for ending violence against women and girls (VAWG), which will be realised through a robust multi agency action plan. We have focused on VAWG as this is where the prevalence of crimes are, but as a borough we recognise men and boys as victims of domestic abuse and our services will support them. Our strategy puts the victim at the centre of service delivery, has a clear focus on perpetrators, keeping victims safe, and acknowledges the need to raise local awareness of the issues. The new strategy will be live on our website from lunchtime on Tuesday 24th February. Violence against women and girls | Merton Council
Merton Plus On Saturday, the 28th at 9am Merton Plus will be at the Lantern Hub hosting there monthly crafting club. Always a fun day. See attached flyer for more information.
Men Sheds Men’s Sheds is a fantastic charity that encourages people to come together to make, repair and repurpose, supporting projects in their local communities. Improving wellbeing, reducing loneliness and combatting social isolation. We are lucky that we have one in St Heliers but there is a small murmuring a second one may be opening up, we shall see. Click on the link to find your nearest shed and find out about the charity. Find A Shed | UKMSA | Men's Sheds Association
Whatever you are up to, have a fantastic week ahead and stay safe.
